Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

The Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) post-graduate certificate program:
- Comprises 24 credits and 600 clinical hours
- Can be completed in 3 semesters and 2 summer sessions
- Costs about $27,000
All PMHNP post-graduate certificate students are also required to be on campus for the NURS 679 Immersion course the first 3 days of spring semester.

Expected Program Outcomes
The post-graduate certificate programs are designed so that each student will be able to:
- Demonstrate proficiency in advanced nursing practice in an advanced nursing role and/or patient population focus with attention to diversity, cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and socio/cultural/political/spiritual determinants of health and well-being
- Integrate scientific underpinnings for advanced nursing practice, clinical judgment, and advanced decision making into an advanced nursing role and/or patient population focus
- Demonstrate role and population competencies as defined by professional standards and State practice acts to improve individual, family, population, and organizational outcomes
- Participate in evidence-based practice and practice innovation within inter-professional teams to improve the safety and quality of person-centered care for individuals, families, populations, and organizations
