Law & Society Program

The Law & Society major is a great option if you want to continue your education rather than practice in a legal setting.

In this major, students study law and legal culture from many disciplinary, conceptual, historical, theoretical, and empirical perspectives.

Along with completing the regular sequence of legal specialty courses, students will earn credits in several other courses that demonstrate the intersection of law in all aspects of society.

Many Law & Society majors go on to law school. Law school, however, is not the only option.

Increasingly, employers are looking for students who are trained in multiple disciplines.

Any career that requires strategic thinking, good writing, articulate speaking, and the ability to ask and decipher complicated questions will be a good fit for a successful Law & Society major. WSU Law & Society graduates have found employment in careers ranging from law enforcement to sales and marketing.

A Major Map (PDF) is available to help students plan to complete their major coursework in 4 years.

The Law & Society B.A. Degree is not ABA-approved.
