Calculate Your GPA

Calculating your GPA during the semester can give you a general sense of your academic success.

These GPA calculators depend on information that you provide and are tools meant for your personal use. They are not connected with the Registrar’s office or with your records in any way and will not give you “official” information.

When you look at your academic record, you’ll see several types of GPA listed. Here’s what each of those terms means:

  • Local GPA: Includes grades from courses taken at WSU only. This is the score used to calculate a student’s academic status.
  • Transfer GPA: Includes grades from courses taken only at other schools and successfully transferred to WSU.
  • Total GPA: Includes grades from both WSU and transfer courses.
  • Term GPA: Only includes the grades from courses taken in a single semester.
  • Cumulative GPA: Includes grades for all semesters.
  • GPA Credits (Crs): The number of credits that count toward the GPA. This is often different than the total number of credits earned.

Target GPA Calculator

This calculator will tell you what GPA you will need for your next semester, year, etc. to reach a GPA goal. You just need to know your current GPA and how many GPA credit hours you’ve already earned.

Then choose a target GPA and enter the number of credit hours in which to achieve that target. For example, you wish to achieve a 3.0 GPA and you’re taking 15 credits next semester.
