Business Administration Program

In the Business Administration (BUSA) major, students prepare for careers in management and administration positions in all types of organizations within the private, nonprofit, and public sectors.

Some common characteristics of BUSA majors are the desire to help the development of organizations, ability to work well with other people, and the flexibility to deal with new and changing situations.

A business administration major could be the right fit if you:

  • Want to start your own business or organization someday
  • Want a degree that is broadly applicable in many industries
  • Are a good written and oral communicator
  • Are looking for rapid advancement and income potential
  • Are interested in entering an MBA program

Business Administration majors acquire skills on how to budget, organize, plan, hire, direct, control, and otherwise manage various organizations. Many students also add another major or minor to add to their areas of competencies and skills.

In addition, the BUSA major emphasizes both behavioral and technical approaches to managing in today’s fast-paced organizations. Students are exposed to information and technology that assists them in managing resources at individual, group, and organizational levels.

This program is designed to allow students to incorporate practical, hands-on training into their education. They may do this through internships, entrepreneurship, operations, or a combination of these areas.
