The faculty in the College of Liberal Arts are exceptionally well educated and well connected in their fields. Their knowledge and networking help our students prepare for careers after graduation in a wide variety of fields.
We offer choices that make sense for your interests—whether you’re looking for a program to express your creativity, make a difference in people’s lives, help solve our society’s problems, learn a language and culture, or something yet to be defined.
Since many liberal arts courses count in the General Education Program, graduating in 4 years—even with double majors or multiple minors—is a reality.
WSU is the only Minnesota State school to have an I-Design program, which takes an integrated approach to graphic design and communication.
WSU ranks as 5th top Bachelor’s Degree program in nation for our Legal Studies program.
WSU is the only Minnesota State school to offer an Applied & Professional Writing major.
The English Department also offers a Professional Writing graduate certificate.
Winona is home to many festivals such as the:

- Boats and Bluegrass Festival
This offers our students opportunities in performance and internships right in their backyard.
