Summer & Winter Sessions
Catch up, keep up, or get ahead in your degree program by taking courses during the summer and winter sessions.
WSU offers online, on-campus, and hybrid courses as well as faculty-led travel programs and internship opportunities to keep you progressing toward your academic goals during the semester breaks.
Plan out your whole year.
You can register for both Winter and Summer sessions, as well as Spring Semester courses.
Take a class or two as a visiting student or guest student.
You can easily transfer credits back to your home school.
With many courses offered online, WSU has resources to help you be successful with online learning.
Summer Session
A course offered during a summer session has the same amount of content and learning outcomes as if you took that course during the regular semester.
Summer courses are just delivered at a faster pace with a more concentrated learning experience.
So, it’s recommended to enroll in 2 courses (6 credits) at most in a single summer session term.
Summer Session Schedule
Some courses may run the full summer session (May 4-July 31), and some may start and end outside of these standard sessions.
Double check the course dates in Student eServices once you have registered for summer classes.
Dropping a Summer Session Course
You can modify your Summer Session course schedule through eServices. Keep in mind the deadlines to drop or withdraw per the Summer Term Refund Policy.
Winter Session
With Winter Session classes, you can make progress if you feel behind in your program or want to fast-track your time to graduation.
Most Winter Session classes are delivered entirely online and are held over the WSU Winter Break.

A course offered during the Winter Session has the same amount of content and learning outcomes as if you took that course during the regular semester.
Winter courses are just delivered at a faster pace with a more concentrated learning experience.
So, it’s recommended to enroll in just 1 course (3 credits) during Winter Session. If you’d like to take more courses, talk to your academic advisor before you register.
Students can enroll in 21 credits max between both Winter Session and Spring Semester. You’ll need to get permission from the College dean who oversees your degree program to exceed this limit.
