Finance Department
The goal of Winona State’s Finance Department is to teach students how to be successful professionals in the versatile field of finance.
Some of the skills that an education in finance will give you are:
- Understanding the economy and its financial systems
- Conceptualizing business issues
- Developing quantitative and computer skills needed to solve complex business problems in the real world
The Finance Department has an AACSB-accredited program and is part of the College of Business.
Internships
Internships are recommended for all qualified finance students to get a head start on their career. These opportunities help students gain additional skills and professional experience while earning credits to apply towards their degree.
The Finance Department provides students with updates about new internship opportunities. Ultimately, students are responsible for locating their own internship and negotiating terms.
Students eligible for internships will have completed FIN 360 with a grade of B or higher and have a GPA of at least 2.75. Eligibility requirements may be adjusted with department permission. Additional internship credits (up to 9 hours) may be earned and applied toward general university graduation requirements.
