Physics Programs
Whether you’re interested in physics, electronics, or becoming a high school science teacher, the Physics Department at WSU has something for you. Our department offers 4 majors and 2 minors with several focuses within the field of physics.
As a physics major, you will have hands-on experiences with laboratory experiments and real-world research as well as develop your theoretical understanding. Our programs will prepare you for jobs in industry, graduate school, or teaching physics in high school
You can also anticipate close relationships with faculty, collaboration with students, and interactions with mentors in the field as you use what you’ve learned to solve complex problems, develop equipment, and design experiments to better understand our world throughout your undergraduate career.
With a degree in physics at WSU, you’ll receive a high-quality education that paves the way for success.
The physics curriculum includes classes in the areas of chemistry, mathematics, engineering, and more.
Plus, you can customize your education through electives.
In addition, our program has small class sizes to make sure you get the individual instruction you need.
Without physics majors, our technology-centered society would not be able to function as is. Therefore, people with a background in physics are essential in the workforce.
There are a wide range of jobs for physics graduates.
