CPR Certification Courses
WSU Health Services offers American Heart Association CPR certification courses for students and employees.
Meets WSU Nursing Program Admission Requirements
Learn how to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilation, and provide early use of an AED.
In this course, you will participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations with an AHA BLS Instructor.
BLS courses are open to current WSU students only.
Course Details:
- Location: IWC 145– unless otherwise noted
- Time: 5 hours
- Cost: $60, which covers the cost of the training manual and certification card. The course fee will be applied to your student account.
If you have little or no medical training, but you want to be prepared for an emergency, Heartsaver courses are designed for you.
Participants receive a course completion card that is valid for 2 years. This satisfies job, regulatory (for example, OSHA) and other requirements.
This course is open to all WSU students. Staff and faculty registrations accepted on a space-available basis.

- Time: 4.5 hours
- Cost: $60, which covers the cost of the training manual and certification card. Please bring cash (only) to the front desk of Health & Wellness Services (IWC 222). A receipt will be given for proof of payment.
You can pick up a course manual at time of payment.
Registration Policy
WSU Health & Wellness Services reserves the right to cancel any course due to scheduling conflicts or attendance.
Participants whose registrations are canceled will be notified by email.
Prepare for the Course
Pick Up a Course Manual
You must pick up your manual at least 4 business days prior to the course date. Manuals can be signed out at the front desk of Health Services (IWC 222).
Please review your course manual prior to the course date.
Arrive Early & Dress Appropriately
Please arrive 5 minutes early to check in and wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will be practicing skills that require working on your hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting.
Plan to spend the entire time actively participating in the course. Leaving early may result in not successfully passing the course.
