Types of Semester Programs
Exchange programs are the most affordable study away choice. You pay your tuition to WSU as usual, but you’ll pay room and board to the host institution.
Students are typically integrated with host country students to help build connections and ease the transition to a new culture.
To filter for exchange programs, type “exchange” in the program search tool.
WSU has agreements with select universities that allow students to direct enroll as an international student at their institution.
You’ll pay the host institution tuition rate as well as room and board. You then register for courses at the host institution in similar process as if you were taking courses at WSU.
To filter for direct enrollment programs, select the option “Direct Enroll” as the program type under the Parameters settings in the program search tool.
Provider programs offer academic options for students where you can attend classes:
- at a host university
- at the provider’s study center
- at a mix of both settings
The program may also include internships, excursions, and other community-based learning opportunities.
Costs will vary depending on the specific program you select, the destination, and other factors.
To filter for provider programs, select the option “Provider” as the program type under the Parameters settings in the program search tool.
International internships—including virtual options and study + intern options—are available in almost any academic field.
The Study Abroad team will work with you to select an internship site that meets your academic and professional goals and then coordinate with approved providers.
Costs will vary depending on the internship duration and location.
To filter for internship programs, select the option “Internships” as the program type under the Parameters settings in the program search tool.
