Enter the Homecoming Parade
The Homecoming Parade is one of the biggest highlights of Homecoming Week for students, alumni, and community members.
The parade is on Oct. 14 at 10am and the route proceeds down Huff Street between Broadway and Mark Street.
This is a great opportunity to showcase your organization, department, or residence hall’s involvement at WSU and in the Winona community.
Register Your Group
If you are a WSU campus club/organization or department, complete the online parade entry form by 12pm on Oct. 6.
If you are a local community organization and want to request entry into the parade, please contact Tracy Rahim at trahim@winona.edu or 507.457.5308.
Please incorporate the theme Channel the Flannel into your parade entry to demonstrate creativity and energy.
WSU reserves the right to deny Homecoming Parade entry requests.
The parade line-up will be emailed to all of those entered and posted on this website the week of Homecoming.
Judging will be based primarily on originality, creativity, WSU pride, school spirit and connection with the Channel the Flannel theme.

Regulations for Parade Entries
All entries must have their group name clearly visible. Candy or other items must be safely thrown to the crowd so that no one runs into the street to collect it.
Your float is a direct representation of your image and what you are portraying about your group.
Have fun, but keep in mind you are representing your organization and WSU.
No parade participant will be allowed to have any beverages or beverage containers (bottles, cups, cans, etc.) in the parade line-up area or in the parade itself.
If you are found to have anything, it will be confiscated and thrown away. Anyone found in violation of this policy will be subject to removal from the parade.
In accordance with municipal laws, there is a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol. Any representation of alcohol, written or insinuated, is prohibited. Anyone found in violation of this policy will be subject to removal from the parade and legal action taken by the police.
The Winona Police Department will be patrolling the parade route.
No pets or other animals will be allowed in the parade unless they have been invited by the Homecoming Planning Committee or are a trained service animal.
This means no dogs (even on a leash) due to the potential risk of someone being bitten or an animal getting out of control in the crowd.
The purpose of the Homecoming parade is to celebrate school spirit and Warrior pride. We reserve the right to refuse parade entries whose aim is to promote any sort of political issue.
Any parade entry (or volunteers with a parade entry) found in non-compliance will be asked to leave the parade immediately.
For general questions, contact Homecoming Parade Chair Samina Sherchan at samina.sherchan@go.winona.edu.
