Study Abroad Program Resources for Faculty
Leading a faculty-led program can be a truly rewarding, educational, memorable, and life-changing experience.
There are resources to support faculty in the planning and implementation of a faculty-led program. The checklist of responsibilities for faculty-led programs (PDF) outlines the components to coordinating and leading a faculty-led program.
Plan for a Faculty-Led Program
Review notes, information, and suggestions from successful faculty if you’re considering starting a faculty-led program. To learn more about faculty-led programs, contact the Study Abroad office.
Exploratory Funding Grant
Faculty can apply for exploratory funding to help offset some of the costs associated with travel to do research/planning for an upcoming faculty-led course they will propose.
One $2,000 exploratory grant will be awarded in the Academic Year 2024-2025 application cycle. The recipient must spend the funds by June 30, 2026. Priority will be given to IFO faculty who:
- have not previously received exploratory grant funding
- are submitting exploratory applications to new international destinations for future faculty-led programs
- have never led faculty-led programs
- seek to develop meaningful partnerships within the destination/region
Applications are accepted on an annual basis. Exploratory applications for Academic Year 2024-2025 are currently being accepted and are due at 11:59pm on Nov. 1.
