WSU Retiree Center

The WSU Retiree Center enriches both the campus community and the lives of retired staff, faculty, and administration.

Retirees who wish to continue their intellectual and social participation in collegial life and service to WSU can greatly benefit from the retiree center.

Retiree Privileges

Every WSU faculty, staff and administrative retiree is granted a variety of privileges to acknowledge the contributions they have made to students and the University during their years of employment. Their spouse/partner or surviving spouse/partner is also considered a member of the WSU Retiree Center.

These privileges include:

  • Invitations to all Alumni events
  • Free admission to regular schedule campus athletic events (does not include conference play-off games, etc.)
  • Technology skills classes
  • Access to a printer, scanner, and copier at the Retiree Center (up to 10 pages per visit)
  • Access to the Fitness Center at the employee membership rate
  • Access to Krueger Library materials and services (ID serves as library card)
  • Free annual parking pass for all campus parking lots (Retiree Parking Permits expire on July 31. Retirees must come to the Retiree Center each year to pick up the new permit.)
  • Free Notary Public services at the Retiree Center

To access your privileges, contact the WSU Retiree Center to get a retiree ID card. Privileges are subject to change without prior notice.

Senior University

Senior University (SU) is open to all adult learners in the community.

You do not have to be a WSU retiree to enjoy these peer-led, short courses taught by WSU professors, WSU retirees, and topic experts.

SU classes provide intellectual and cultural learning opportunities. Not only does SU offer opportunities for lifelong learning, but also the fellowship of peers sharing a common quest for continued growth.

Day Trips & Travel Programs

The Retiree Center Travel and Day-Trip Program is a popular opportunity to see new places, meet new people and have new experiences.

Whether it’s a trip to Cape Cod or abroad, or a daytrip to museums, symphonies or professional theatre productions, there is likely something for everyone to enjoy.

Come and join us on our next trip!

Pathways to Retirement Planning

Thinking about retirement from WSU?

The Pathways to Retirement Planning guide has resources and workshops about planning for retirement to help you consider:

• Financial readiness
• Healthcare insurance
• The transition from a work lifestyle to retirement lifestyle
• How to find purpose and satisfaction in retirement

The Learning Club

The Learning Club is a not-for-profit organization open to retired people who are dedicated to continuing education that’s both fun and challenging.

A variety of classes are taught by people who love their subject. Participants’ motivation is simply a love for learning and a desire to stay fresh and vibrant during retirement.

Living History Video Project

The Living History Project provides a documented legacy of WSU Retirees’ lives, accomplishments and contributions to our University.

Students in the Mass Communications program research, interview, write scripts, film, and edit the documentary which is then premiered on campus.

This inter-generational experiential learning venture is a project of pride for the entire WSU community.
