Housing & Meal Plan Rates
Housing and meal plan rates vary depending on the residence hall, room type, and meal plan you choose.
WSU offers many options, so you can mix and match housing and dining plans to create the lifestyle that works for you.
For a total cost of your room and board expenses, add the academic year room rate and the academic year meal plan rate together.
All rates are subject to change. Housing and meal plans are available only on the Winona campus.

2024-2025 Meal Plan Rates
All students living in the traditional residence halls and suite-style halls are required to have a residential meal plan.
Students living in the Sustainability House or East Lake Apartments may opt into a meal plan if they wish.
Dining Dollars is a fund of money that’s included with most meal plans to give you the flexibility to eat at other dining locations on campus and spend as you want.
Some considerations for this meal plan:
- Unused Dining Dollars from Fall semester carry over to Spring semester. However, unused Dining Dollars from Spring semester expire at the end of each academic year.
- Tax is not included for purchases at all on-campus dining venues
- You can purchase more Dining Dollars on your Housing Portal
- Additional Dining Dollars cannot be added if there’s a financial hold on a student’s account
Dining Dollars are non-refundable under any circumstance.
The Block Plan is great for students living in the Sustainability House, East Lake Apartments, or off campus.
You pick the number of meals you want and use them at your own pace over the semester. This is our most flexible meal plan option.
Students can choose to purchase one or multiple Block Plans at a time.
Some considerations for this meal plan:
- Unused meals from Fall semester carry over to Spring semester. However, unused meals from Spring semester expire at the end of each academic year.
- You may not cancel a block plan if you have used any part of it
- You can purchase extra block plans on your Housing Portal
- Additional block plans cannot be added if there’s a financial hold on a student’s account
Block Plans are non-refundable once any meals have been used.
