Education Village
The Education Village is located a few blocks east of Main Campus.
The Education Village houses the College of Education and features a variety of state-of-the-art classrooms, resource centers, our campus rock climbing center, and a study lounge.
Academic Departments
Helble Hall
Helble Hall is at the far eastern edge of the Education Village and includes classrooms, the WSU Children’s Center, and study spaces.
The atrium is a spacious study area for students to study and hang out between classes.
And with a large projector above, this is also a venue for guest speakers, fundraisers, and other events.
Helble Hall has multiple high-tech learning spaces on the second floor equipped with laptop charging stations, SmartBoards, and moveable desks and whiteboards.
There are also 55 monitors throughout the Education Village that any student can connect to.
The Bridge is a study lounge located above the atrium. Here students have a view of the outdoor green space and bluffs.
The design of the floor includes quotes from educators and innovators, which are what the Education Village stands for.
This first-floor center serves about 200 children of Winona State students, employees, and local community members.
It’s also an opportunity for education students to gain student teaching experience.
Children’s CenterWabasha Recreation Center
The Wabasha Recreation Center is in the middle of the Education Village. This center includes the rock-climbing facility and Outdoor Education & Recreation Center.
The climbing wall is open to both students and community members.
Climbing CenterThe OERC also hosts excursions on land and water that are guided by certified Wilderness Leaders.
OERCCathedral Hall
Cathedral Hall is at the far western edge of the Education Village.
This building features offices for the Dean of the College of Education and other administrators. Cathedral Hall is also home to an education museum, 2 classrooms, an auditorium, a large ITV conference room, and a testing center.
